150 Meter Endurance Test. This test can predict time of 100 meter running athlete. A coach can use this test to monitor the progress of athlete physical fitness component. The aim of this test is to measure the development of the athlete's specific endurance for 100 meter. See below to know conducting procedure of this test.
To undertake this test you will require:
• 400 meter track – 15 meter marked section
• Stop watch
How to conduct the test
• The athlete undertakes a 150 meter run from a standing start
• The assistant records the time for the athlete to complete 150 meter.
Analysis of the result is by comparing it with the results of previous tests. It is expected that, with appropriate training between each test, the analysis would indicate an improvement.
Predicted time for the 100 meter
The athlete’s 100m time can be predicted from their 150m time using the following algorithm:
• = –2.496488 + (“150m Time” x 0.9996637) + ( “150m Time” x “150m Time” x –0.010305)
This test is suitable for sprinters but not for individuals where the test would be contraindicated.
Reliability would depend upon how strict the test is conducted and the individual's level of motivation to perform the test.
There are no published tables to relate results to potential performance in competition.
